Heroes come in many shapes and sizes

A hero may be born of fire
A hero may be born of ice
A hero may be born of strength
A hero may be born of fate
A hero may be born out of pain.
There are many heroes out there
ones who stand up for others
ones who stand up for themselves
A hero may rescue a lot of people
A hero may rescue just one
and a hero may rescue themselves
a hero is someone who stands up for something, someone, someplace.
We can all be heroes.

Lost in a dream

Not sure where to turn
Following one hearts
But still lost in the stream
No up or down
No left or right
Cannot go straight
Can only go back
Time slows down
Heart races
Lost in dream
But scared to go back

The rain falls falls down

It fills my soul
And makes me new
And makes me whole

It brings new life
To the earth we know

The rain falls down
And cleans my soul.

Sitting on the beach
Working on my story
Overcast day
Waves are high
A little girl brings me a stone
I look around
Not a lot of people
But enough to feel good
Not a mask in site
Seagulls wander around
Life almost feels normal
Post pandemic life

The feeling of the sun on your face,
The smell that takes you back,
The smile of a friend,
The taste of something sweet,
The sound of I love you,
The memories of great times,
6 senses to make you smile.

I created this piece based on a painting for a local writing contest. I never got the permission to post the picture, but I still wanted to share my creation. I actually wrote two similar pieces and will be posting both

Looking at my reflection
I see the shadow of my past
I see the pain of my future
I see the sadness of loss
I see the light of a new day
I see the fire of passion
I see all of me
All the pieces that make me whole.

Draw a line in the sand
Make it right
make it grand
Draw a line in the sky
Make it straight
make it fly
Draw a line in the ocean
Make it wave
make it a commotion
Draw a line in the fire
Don’t do that
its hot.

We are bad ass bitches
We are strong
We are proud
We fight for what we believe in
We stand against those that will hurt others
We work to make a better world for all
No one can put us down because we don't let them
We care with all our hearts
We cry when we are hurt
We love with out reservation
We are B.A.B
