This story is about Amanda and our beloved Peter. But before we go there you need to know about Amanda and her beginnings with the Avengers.
Our story so far.
This story takes place on another Earth. (There was never an Endgame here.) Amanda was an orphan. She joined the avengers a little over 5 years ago when she was 16 years old. Her ability is to cloak herself for quick bursts. Her parents were killed when she was very young. She lived on the streets for 2 years when she was discovered by a small Hydra cell. They grabbed her off the streets and took her to their base and locked her up. They decided she was perfect for experimenting on. They injected her with different serums waiting for one to have an effect. They also beat and tortured her so that she would be obedient. Amanda was very strong willed and would not be broken. She tried to escape any chance she got. After a few months one of the serums finally worked. After the last injection while Amanda was strapped in the chair, her skin started to become translucent and within a few minutes Amanda was completely gone. The doctors had rushed to the chair and soon discovered that Amanda was still there, just could not be seen. This only lasted for 15 minutes and then she was visible again. Once this was discovered they kept a very close eye on her to make sure she did not escape. They even moved her to a cell within the lab for closer observations.
After one of the testing sessions Amanda was being put back in her cell when there was an explosion. And then all of a sudden there was shots being fired everywhere. The guard threw Amanda in her cell and shut the door for some reason this time it did not lock and the door was slightly open. a man with a metal arm came into the lab and killed all the doctors. Amanda had taken this chance to cloak herself before he could see her and escaped. Once outside of the base she hopped into the back of a truck and hid. After a couple of hours, the truck came to a stop and she slipped out of the back and into a covering of trees nearby. She found herself in upstate New York: back on the streets but at least she was free. A few months later she was found or should we say caught by James Barnes (aka Bucky) when she broke into his apartment for shelter from a nasty winter storm, thinking no one was home There was! Bucky had been asleep on the couch; he instantly woke up when he heard the window break. He was able to grab the intruder quickly. He turned on the light, when he realized it was just a young girl, he loosened his grip a little. Amanda was terrified. She tried to run but he had her. She tried to cloak herself but he still had her arm and knew she was still there. She looked around for anything she could use as a weapon, but could not find anything. Just then she noticed the metal arm. She started having flashbacks to when she was a prisoner. She then realized this was the man that attacked the Hydra base she was being held at. Bucky saw the fear in her eyes and started to talk to her to get her to calm down and he soon discovered that Amanda had been the prisoner he had been sent to free but found no one. Bucky had been distraught thinking that he had been too late and the prisoner had been killed. Amanda started to relax. Bucky reassured her that she was safe now and handed her a blanket. He went to the kitchen and grabbed some food and a tea. Over the next few months Bucky became like a brother to Amanda and very protective of her. He taught her how to fight and the best way to use her powers when trying to escape. She stayed with Bucky for a few months, but Bucky knew she needed to be protected more than what he could do. She also needed school and family. He reached out to Tony and asked if she could join the team. Tony was happy to help, Tony would make sure she was taken care of. They made arrangement for when Amanda would arrive at the compound.
Once she arrived at the compound Everyone excepted her quickly. Tony kept the fact that Bucky had sent her to himself. Steve would not understand he missed his best friend and wanted to find him but Bucky was not ready to see Steve. Later in the day Peter arrived back from school and was introduced to Amanda. The two of them had an instant connection. They fell in love quickly. Amanda would sneak out to visit Bucky every once in a while. Bucky kept his distance he did not want to ruin any chances for Amanda.
Natalie (aka Nat) took Amanda under her wing and they became best friends. Amanda did not tell anyone about her visits to see Bucky. She did not want to stir trouble with the team if they knew he was in town. One evening after a training session with Steve, Amanda had decided to go for a walk and visit Bucky. She messaged him that she was on her way and would see him in about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, this is when the Hydra finds her and takes her back to the base. They grabbed her off the street moments after she texted Bucky. She tried to fight back but they over powered her and drugged her. They tied her up and place her in a small cell.
A few hours had passed and Amanda has not arrived at Bucky’s. He decides to go to the compound to see Amanda. Bucky barges in and Steve is sitting in the Livingroom. Bucky demands to see Amanda. Steve stares at Bucky in shock. Tony then arrives and gets Steve to leave. Steve leaves but keeps looking back at Bucky. Tony gets Bucky to explain why he is there. Bucky then has to explain how Amanda comes to see him and that she was to be there tonight but never arrived. Tony explains that she is probably out on a date with Peter. Tony calls Peter’s phone, just at that moment Peter walks out of the gym where he had been training for the last few hours. Tony asks if Peter has seen Amanda, Peter explains that he saw her when she finished training, he told Peter she was going for a walk and would be back later. She is probably in her room sleeping by now.
After checking her room and searching the compound they discover that she was not there. Tony had Jarvis traced her phone, Peter and Bucky go the location and found it smashed on the ground and signs of a struggle. They look around for any clues and find a bank machine with a camera. They head back to the compound and pull up the feed and are able to see when Amanda was taken and who did it. After some work Jarvis was able to pull up an image of a Hydra tattoo on the back on one of the attacker's hands. The team spend the next few days searching all and any know Hydra cells looking for her but cannot find any sign of her. They start to lose hope of finding her. Peter never stops, he leaves first thing in the morning and does not return until early the next day. Tony and the team start to worry about Peter, he is not sleeping or eating. They try to get him to stop but he refused.
Tony called a meeting apparently Fury’s team had discovered a new Hydra base in Easton and wanted the Avengers to eradicate it. On these missions it was Peter’s job to enter the base and search and free any prisoners as well as to access their computers and download the drives. Peter’s spidey sense came in handy as he was able to avoid the guards and sneak in undetected. The rest of the team would be fighting with the agents and setting charges to blow the base. Peter made his way into the base. Most cells where empty but his Spidey sense told him to keep going. He went down to a lower level and entered the lab. He found a small cell with a body crumbled in the corner. Peter went over to the cell to check the body. He discovered it was a girl and she was barely breathing and badly beaten and covered in blood. He picked her up and radioed the team that he had a survivor but she was in bad shape. He was heading back to the quin-jet. He looked down at the girl and told her she was safe now. She moved her head and said “Peter?” Peter stops and brushed the hair off her face, only then does he realize that he is holding Amanda. As the shock wore off, he hugs her close and starts running to the quin-jet. He radioed the team and told them he had her. Once back at the jet. He got her into the portal med bay and started an IV. Peter sat beside her never letting go of her hand. Once back at the compound Bruce was able to stabilize her, she had been beaten badly and was lucky Peter found her in time. Another couple of hours and she would have surely died. She had fallen into a coma on the flight back to the compound, she did not wake up for a couple of weeks, Peter never left her side. Once she woke up Peter swore, he would always protect her and never leave her side. Bucky moved into the compound to help with Amanda’s recovery and to help keep her safe. A few months had passed since Amanda was rescued. There had been numerous attacks by Hydra trying to get Amanda back. They had almost gotten her a couple of times at school. But the Peter was able to protect her. Shortly after the last attack at school it was decided that both her and Peter would continue schooling from the compound. Any time Amanda left the compound she was never unescorted. Because of their feelings for each other most of the time it would be Peter.
Jump forward it has been 2 years and Peter and Amanda have been inseparable. One night one day after training Amanda heads back to her room to relax, on the bed she finds a single rose and a note from Peter asking her to join him on the roof at sunset, Amanda showers, she gets dressed looks out her window and sees it is almost sunset. She heads up the stairs to the roof access. She gets up to the roof and walks around until she sees a romantic dinner and blankets laid out. Peter is there holding a single red rose. The two enjoy a wonderful dinner and desert. They lay back on the blankets and watch the stars and identify constellations. Peter asks Amanda to pick her favourite star, she cannot pick there are so many and so beautiful. He takes her hand and she looks at him, he brings out an engagement ring out of his pocket, and asks if she would like this one. She looks down at the ring and smiles. Peter then sits up so he is on one knee and asks Amanda if she will marry him. She slips the ring on her finger and kisses him and says yes.
3 years have gone by since that wonderful night. The two are happily married and living at the compound. They Train every day together. Peter watches out for Amanda all the time and she does the same for him.
